HCS SB 809 -- MUNICIPAL ZONING SPONSOR: Graham (Baker, 25) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government by a vote of 14 to 0. This bill allows cities, towns, and villages to adopt by reference the zoning regulations of the county instead of adopting their own municipal regulations through the passage of an ordinance. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will save municipalities money by allowing them to utilize county staff already familiar with the zoning regulations and procedures. Testifying for the bill were Senator Graham; Missouri Municipal League; Boone County; and Missouri Chapter, American Planning Association. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
